Heather’s Story

๐ŸŽ“ Clinical Background

Heather earned her PharmD from Keck Graduate Institute in 2024 and completed a PGY1 residency as the Public Health Resident at the County of Santa Clara Health System. During residency, she had the opportunity to care for people experiencing homelessness, patients facing mental health challenges, and individuals with limited access to resources โ€” giving her a uniquely broad and human perspective on what good pharmacy care requires.

๐Ÿ’ก Why Heather Chose This Work

Heather believes health outcomes are inseparable from what is happening in a patient's life โ€” their culture, their job situation, their access to resources, their personal stressors. She chose Gojji because she wanted to bridge that gap by meeting patients where they are, not where a clinical guideline assumes they should be. She is dedicated to empowering patients not just to manage their health, but to advocate for themselves within a system that can be confusing and intimidating.

Something You Might Not Expect About Heather

Heather loves all forms of art โ€” dancing, playing guitar, painting. Outside of the pharmacy world, she's most at home when she's creating something. Her patients often find that same energy comes through in how she explains a concept or helps someone see their condition in a new way.

What Dr. Can Do For You

Beyond What You Might Expect

Most patients don't realize that a Gojji pharmacist can look for opportunities to simplify the medications you take and make sure you're actually getting the most benefit from each one. Heather reviews your regimen with fresh eyes โ€” asking whether everything is still necessary, whether there are simpler options, and whether your therapy truly fits your life.

This includesMedication simplification and rationalization, Benefit-risk review per patient context, Social determinants-informed care, Patient self-advocacy coaching, Health literacy and education

What a Successful Session Feels Like

The Goal Every Time

For Heather, the best sign of a successful session is a lightbulb moment โ€” when a patient says 'Wow, I never knew that' or 'No one ever told me that.' The more a patient understands the why and the how behind her recommendations, the more motivated they are to take ownership of their own health.

You'll leave withA clearer understanding of your condition, at least one question answered that's been on your mind, and a specific next step to work toward together.
