My goal for you isn't perfection. It's about honesty and motivation.
Get to Know Sofia
Sofia earned her bachelor's degree in nutrition from Cal Poly Pomona and her master's degree from Arizona State University, then completed her internship through the Nutrition Ink Internship Program. Her training took her through several settings that shaped how she works with patients today: as a dietetic intern at Gojji Pharmacy, she spoke directly with patients managing diabetes and hypertension; at Redlands Unified School District, she worked with K-12 students and their parents on school breakfast and lunch nutrition; and at L.A. Downtown Hospital, she supported patients' nutrition needs during their care. Before all of that, she spent seven months as a dishwasher and diet aide at a nursing home, prepping beverages, washing dishes, and delivering meals to residents โ hands-on experience that grounded her understanding of what good nutrition care actually looks like in practice. Today, she brings all of that into her work at Gojji.
Diabetes and hypertension run in Sofia's own family, and she's watched friends navigate them too โ so this work has never felt abstract to her. She's also driven by a specific frustration: how much misleading nutrition information is out there. She wanted to be the person who gives patients the true, practical facts about food instead of letting the internet fill in the gaps.
Outside of clinic hours, Sofia is a flow artist. She does light shows with LED light props, moving to music โ a hobby that's as much a creative outlet as it is a form of moving meditation.
Training & Credentials
Your Care with Sofia
Sofia treats every session as a real conversation, grounded in facts rather than fads โ a direct response to how much confusing nutrition advice patients encounter elsewhere. She'll ask about your eating habits, your daily routine, and what's already been hard to change.
From there, you'll build a plan around real food, real facts, and what's realistic for you.
Most patients don't realize that a Gojji dietitian is essentially a food doctor โ someone who can advise on which foods help your specific condition, stress management, sleep habits, hydration, and exercise, in addition to being an expert in blood glucose and blood pressure management.
When a session goes well, Sofia's patients leave feeling less stressed and more in control of managing their condition. She likes to use the example of carbohydrates: diabetes management isn't about eliminating them, it's about pairing carbs with protein to build a balanced meal โ so patients can still enjoy the foods they love.
